    Head, Satellite Positioning and Navigation (SPAN) Laboratory

    School of Mathematical and Geospatial Sciences, RMIT University, Melbourne Australia

    Areas of Expertise: Global Positioning Systems (GPS) and Global Navigation Satellite Systems (GNSS), geodesy, surveying and geomatics.
     

    Career Highlights

    Ø Over 500 publications including ~350 refereed papers (~75 SCI), 200+ for invited presentations;

    Ø Co-inventor of ~8 national and international patents/patent lodgements;

    Ø Chief/Chair/Principal investigators of numerous national and international competitive grants, consultancy and T&L research projects, supervision of 50+ research scholars (post-doctoral and research students);

    Ø Extensive R&D, T&L, fieldwork and supervision experience; being an excellent team leader/player and 30+ year’s experience in theory, algorithm and innovative applications of GNSS/geodesy/surveying/geomatics;

    Ø Numerous awards, prizes and recognitions in research, scholarships, publications and T&L;

    Ø Instrumental in driving various major initiatives and successfully lead large international teams involving leading scientists from US, Europe, Asia and Australia, over $20m funding attracted (in collaboration with others) since 2000;
     

    Education

    Doctor of Philosophy (1994-1997): Curtin University of Technology, Perth, Australia (Full scholarship awardee and partly Australian Research Council grants funded).
